Let Pams fulfil your needs...
Pams is delighted to offer its e-fulfilment service to all customers.
We believe this service will prove invaluable for customers who are currently running (or who are considering setting up) e-commerce websites.
What is e-fulfilment?
Basically an e-fulfilment service takes the responsibility for picking, packing and shipping your web orders out of your hands. It means that you do not have to commit to buying stock in advance. You only pay for the stock you sell.
How it works
A customer will place an order on your website as normal. You will process the payment transaction in the usual manner and ensure that the payment has been authorised. Here's where the Pams e-fulfilment service takes over. Using a specially written software programme, provided by Pams, you will be able to send the customer order straight into our system where stock will be allocated automatically. We will then print, pick and pack the order and despatch it direct to your customer. The order will be sent out with your paperwork and in plain packaging so, as far as the customer is concerned, it has come direct from you.
What's in it for you?
- Stock. You will no longer have to buy and warehouse stock in order to fulfil web orders. You will only be buying exactly what you need to satisfy your web orders - no risk of over stocking and greatly reduced risk of being out of stock.
- Storage. Your website will no longer be held back by the size of your warehouse/stockroom and the number of staff available. This allows you to greatly expand the range of products available for sale on your website.
- Cost. You will not have to commit valuable resources to renting warehouse space and employing staff. You will have a fixed fulfilment cost which will only apply when you have an actual order, thereby greatly reducing your financial risk.
What's in it for us?
We believe that reducing the financial risk to our customers will enable them to develop their websites more quickly and confidently. This should result in increased sales from which we will both benefit. There is a small initial set up fee to cover administration and supply of software and then you pay Pams list price + vat for the stock. We are confident you will find this a very cost effective option when compared with the expense of running and staffing your own warehouse.
The e-fulfilment service is already up and running is working very well. Some of your web competitors are already reaping the benefits. What will I need to provide?
You will need to provide picking list stationery. Pams can give you the name of a supplier for this. Pams will now provide all packaging that is required to despatch your orders, and will invoice you for this at the end of each month. You will also need to arrange a contract with a carrier company such as Royal Mail who will collect the goods from Pams and ship them on your behalf.
How will I be invoiced for the goods?
You will be invoiced for the goods as per your normal trading terms.
What about goods that I buy from other suppliers?
You can arrange to have consignment stocks of products you buy from other suppliers delivered to Pams. We will store these goods on your behalf in a specially designated area of the warehouse and will pick, pack and ship them alongside your Pam's products. There will be a small charge to cover handling of consignment stock.
What happens if my web customer orders a product that is out of stock?
We will contact you in the case of any stock-outs so you can inform your customer. You will also be able to check the status of any orders and the stock levels of any products by logging onto your account on the Pams website. We can also supply you with daily stock updates.
How will customer returns be dealt with?
Your returns and cancellations policy should be clearly set out on your website. You should include contact details for customer returns on your paperwork so that the returns address is shipped with every order. You may wish to deal with any customer returns directly. If you wish us to deal with customer returns you may need to set up a PO Box address for your customers to send the goods back to.
